Fish tacos are a staple street food in Mexico, and are made by grilling or frying white fish, such as tilapia or cod, and serving it in a warm corn tortilla with toppings such as shredded cabbage, salsa, and lime.

Shrimp Cocktail is made with cooked and chilled shrimp, diced tomatoes, diced onions, cilantro and some lime juice.

Seafood soups like Caldo de camarón or Caldo de pescado are hearty soups made with fish or shrimp stock, vegetables, and various seafood like squid, clams, crab and fish.

Mexican seafood cooking also tends to make extensive use of spices such as chili pepper, cumin and oregano which adds to the bold and spicy flavors that are a signature of Mexican cuisine.
